Amy Supinger

Amy SupingerĀ is the founder of Supinger Strategies, Inc., a Sacramento based consulting firmĀ focused on California fiscal and policy matters, with an emphasis on higher education policy and finance. Ms. Supinger brings over 20 years of experience and skills to her practice.

A former Consultant with the Senate Committee on Budget and Fiscal Review, she served for over a decade as a trusted advisor to the California State Senate on postsecondary education finance and policy. Ms. Supinger also served as the Chief Consultant to the Assembly Committee on Higher Education, leading the policy work of that committee, and as a Budget Analyst at the Department of Finance, where she trained in the foundations of public finance.

Supinger Strategy clients include the Lumina Foundation, for whom she serves as the California State Policy Consultant, as well as the Foundation for California Community Colleges, where she supports the organization's development work and student success and completion agenda and previously served as the Executive Director of the 2011 Student Success Task Force. Additional clients include community college districts, philanthropic organizations, and nonprofit education advocacy groups, for whom Ms. Supinger provides policy analysis, strategy and political advice.

Ms. Supinger earned a Master's Degree in Public Policy and Administration from the California State University, Sacramento and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She resides in Sacramento with her husband Michael Cohen and their two rescue dogs, Lulu and Dexter
