Devorah Lieberman

Devorah Lieberman began her tenure as the President of University of La Verne in July 2011 and was elected to the Commission in 2012. She previously served as Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Wagner College (NY) and as Vice Provost and Special Assistant to the President at Portland State University (OR). She has also previously served as the chair of the ACE International Collaborative, worked as an ACE Institute Facilitator, and sat on the advisory board for the National Review Board for Civic Engagement. Lieberman has published and co-authored dozens of books and articles relating to diversity, institutional transformation and current issues affecting higher education. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Humboldt State University, a master’s degree in Intercultural Communication from San Diego State University and a Ph.D. in Intercultural Communication and Gerontology from the University of Florida.
