Tomoko Takahashi

Tomoko Takahashi currently serves as the Vice President for Institutional Research and Assessment and the Dean of the Graduate School at Soka University of America.  Over the past 20+ years at Soka, she also served as the Provost and has helped establish Soka as an emerging student-centered university founded on the Buddhist principles of peace, human rights, and the sanctity of life.  As the university’s ALO since 2001 and as a frequent visiting committee member, Dr. Takahashi has gained valuable experience with WSCUC.  As a teacher-trainer and a widely published author, she has contributed to the field of language and intercultural education linking diverse Eastern and Western cultures. She received a BA in English from Albertus Magnus College, an MA, Ed M, and EdD in applied linguistics from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a PhD in translation studies from Monash University in Australia.
