Jane Wellman

Jane Wellman, Public Memberis an expert in postsecondary policy, with particular expertise in changing finances, cost analysis and cost management, institutional governance and change management. She is the founding director of the Delta Cost Project, where her breakthrough work on cost analysis and public transparency for college finances garnered national attention from the New York Times, Money Magazine, the Association for Institutional Research, and the Education Writers' Association. She began her career as a budget analyst in the University of California system, followed by positions as the Chief of Staff to the California Assembly Ways and Means Committee, the Deputy Director of the California Postsecondary Education Commission, and Vice President for Government Relations with the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities.  She recently retired from the College Futures Foundation in San Francisco, where she continues as an advisor to the Board, while also volunteering her time as a public member of the Western Regional Accrediting Commission.  She received her BA and MA degrees from UC Berkeley.
