Monique Snowden

Monique L. Snowden is Vice President for Institutional Planning & Effectiveness, on faculty in the School of Leadership Studies, and a former WSCUC Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO) at Fielding Graduate University. Dr. Snowden provides strategic leadership and support for the university in the application of strategic planning; operational performance monitoring, assessment, and improvement; project management; and change management. Her administrative oversight includes academic technology, administrative technology, institutional research, registrar-supported academic and enrollment services, and financial aid and scholarships.

Dr. Snowden began her professional career as a software developer and business consultant for a global technology solutions and services firm. She has more than 20 years of experience in higher education, with particular expertise in strategic enrollment management (SEM) and advancing analytics for institutional and educational effectiveness. She has authored several SEM publications and is a frequent presenter on learner-centered SEM and the enrollment logics that guide higher education SEM practice.

Prior to joining Fielding administration in 2009, as the associate provost for enrollment management, Dr. Snowden held senior administrator positions at Northwestern University and Texas A&M University.  She is currently on the boards of the Santa Barbara & Ventura Colleges of Law and Just Communities—a Central California nonprofit organization focused on issues of diversity, inclusion, and equity. Most recently, Dr. Snowden served on the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) board of directors, as the vice president for access and equity from 2014 - 2017; served on the WSCUC Interim Report Committee from 2014 – 2017; and has been a frequent workgroup and visiting team member for WSCUC since 2011.  

Dr. Snowden is a 2015 - 2016 American Council on Education (ACE) Fellow, hosted at Cal Poly Pomona and engaged with EDUCAUSE. She earned a BBA in Business Analysis; MS in Management Information Systems; and PhD in Communication, with an emphasis in organizational communication—all from the main campus of Texas A&M University. Dr. Snowden holds a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) designation from the Project Management Institute.
