Roop Prabhu

2021 Fellow, CAIR Team

My name is Roop Prabhu and I’m excited to be a member of our WSCUC fellows team! I have worked in the education field for the last fifteen years: seven years teaching high school and eight years working in institutional research and business analytics at the university level. I was born in Hong Kong and moved to Southern California when I was 12 years old and have lived in Northern California for the last 18 years.

I have worked at Golden Gate University in business analytics and institutional research since 2015, where my job duties and responsibilities include institutional and financial analytics, assessment, and revenue and enrollment forecasting. I serve as a Board Secretary of the California Association for Institutional Research (CAIR), an experience that has greatly expanded my knowledge of institutional research and effectiveness as practiced throughout the state and beyond.

I recently completed the coursework for my Doctorate in Business Administration with an emphasis on higher education at GGU and am currently working on my dissertation, which focuses on adult online learning. I also earned a certificate in institutional research and hold master’s degrees in both statistics and public health. Through my experiences, I have been fortunate to discover my deep passion for institutional research and effectiveness, assessment, and student equity, and I am interested in applying my skills, passion, and knowledge for this fellowship.
