In May 2025, WSCUC launched a review of its 2023 Standards of Accreditation to ensure continued compliance with federal directives. The review was led by WSCUC’s Standards Review Work Group comprised of Commissioners representing the range of institutional missions within the WSCUC community.

The Work Group has completed the initial phase of its review and developed proposed targeted updates to the Standards. The proposed updates strengthen WSCUC’s longstanding focus on student outcomes and institutional excellence and align with updated federal directives.

WSCUC now invites feedback on the proposed updates to the Standards. The public comment period opens today and closes on Friday, September 12. Feedback will be reviewed by the Standards Review Work Group on a rolling basis through the end of the comment period.

We encourage your participation in this important process. Your feedback will help shape targeted updates to the Standards that are clear, rigorous, and emphasize success for every student.
