Sova Survey FAQ

WSCUC is pleased to join accreditor colleagues in a new national effort to better understand how our institutional members engage in transfer and learning mobility discussions within our existing accreditation expectations. WSCUC has partnered with Sova and Beyond Transfer to better understand your institution’s experiences and perspectives in this area. A preview of the survey is available here.

Who will view my institution’s submission?

Submissions will be processed by Sova and each accreditor will receive their set of institutional responses. Sova will analyze survey responses for each accreditor, as well as trends in responses for all accreditors. Responses will not be shared back with your institution or with other parties.

Can more than one person from my institution complete this survey?

We expect each institution will submit only one response to the survey. We recognize that multiple individuals at an institution will have relevant experiences and perspectives and thus encourage institutions to form a team to review and discuss the survey questions, determine institutional responses to the questions, and designate one individual responsible for submitting the survey by the October 5, 2024, deadline.

Do I need to complete the survey form in one sitting or can I save my responses and return at a later time?

Should you need to navigate away from the survey, Qualtrics will automatically save your progress and bring you back to the last question you completed when you open the survey link again, so long as you do so in the same browser and your browser settings permit cookies. If your browser is set to automatically delete cookies, we recommend that you submit the survey in one sitting. You may find it helpful to preview the survey.

How will WSCUC use this information?

We expect to use this information as we assess on an ongoing basis our accreditation expectations as set in our policies and standards, in our training for peer evaluators, in our board education, and in our member engagement. We anticipate sharing an update with our members in early 2025.

How long will it take to complete the survey?

We anticipate that it will take most institutions 2.5 – 2.75 hours to identify campus colleagues to participate in the survey, review and discuss survey questions with campus colleagues, determine institutional responses, and submit the survey form. We encourage our members to initiate survey discussions early as we understand that aligning schedules to make time for discussion can be the most challenging part of the survey process.

Are responses anonymous?

As we expect institutional responses to reflect the combined experiences and perspectives of multiple campus colleagues, this survey does not gather such personally identifiable information as name, title, or email. Instead, the survey requests a set of general information about the institution (e.g, location, undergraduate enrollment).

If I have an additional question or concern, who can I contact?

Please reach out to our partners at Sova with any questions, including requests for technical assistance with the survey form. Our contact at SOVA is juana.sanchez@sova.org.
