Guan Liu

Guan Liu is a Junior at San Diego State University pursuing a double major in Political Science and History, as well as a minor in Public Administration. As a first-generation college student and an immigrant, he knows first-hand that education is key to rising up the socioeconomic escalator. He cares deeply about ending intergenerational poverty and building a society where social and economic mobility is possible for all. Currently, he serves as the Chair of the California State Student Association (CSSA), which is the official voice of the nearly half a million students of the California State University. In this role, Guan is focused on ensuring that the association carries out its responsibility of effectively serving the needs of the CSU’s diverse student population. Prior to that, he served as CSSA’s Vice President of Legislative Affairs, where he led the organization’s governmental and legislative advocacy efforts. After undergraduate studies, Guan hopes to attend law school and pursue a career as an attorney practicing contractual/business law. In his free time, he enjoys reading, trying new foods, and spending time outdoors.
