• ARC2026 Attendees Recognize Outstanding Poster Presentations

    July 9, 2026 - WSCUC

Poster presentations at ARC provide institutional teams an opportunity to share promising practices, emerging work, and practical lessons with colleagues across the WSCUC community. ARC2026 attendees were invited to vote for posters that showcased innovative ideas, practical applications, and engaging presentations. WSCUC appreciates everyone who took the time to explore the poster session, connect with presenters, and share their feedback. Many posters received recognition from attendees, and the following three received the highest number of votes overall.

Novice to Warrior Dance Partner: A Faculty Member’s Journey From Fear to Wonder

Barbara Howard (Concordia University Irvine) shared an engaging and relatable story of learning to harness AI. Attendees praised the poster’s visual storytelling, accessible approach, and ability to resonate with participants across all levels of AI experience.

Institutional Effectiveness from a Student Perspective

Bárbara Gómez-Cáceres, Lizeth Sotelo, Tiana Kraus-Kozioł, and Rowena Gomez (Palo Alto University) highlighted the value of involving students in assessment and accreditation work. Attendees praised the poster’s thoughtful design and clear communication, as well as the student presenters’ professionalism, insights, and ability to bring assessment and institutional effectiveness practices to life.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in Higher Education

Marsha Swindler (Pacific Oaks College) demonstrated how UDL can create more inclusive learning environments and support student success. Attendees were drawn to the poster’s practical focus on reducing barriers, fostering engagement, and supporting student success.

Poster presentations will return at next year’s conference, taking place April 7–9, 2027, in San Diego. Institutions interested in sharing their work are encouraged to submit a proposal when the ARC2027 call opens later this summer.
