• Inside Higher Ed: Can there be national progress on postsecondary learning?

    January 29, 2020 - WSCUC

In a new column entitled, “Can there be national progress on postsecondary learning?’, Inside Higher Education’s Doug Lederman examines tough questions about teaching and learning.

Lederman spoke with WSCUC president Jamienne Studley about the role accreditors play in helping institutions establish and meet goals for student learning, and noted in his column that “accrediting agencies (collectively, though with some variation) have significantly upped their efforts to prod institutions to set goals for what students learn and to show how and whether they are doing so.” WSCUC maintains a staunch commitment to understanding and improving student learning and core competencies within each institution’s mission to assure postsecondary quality.
