Sharon Mayo

Sharon D. Mayo, Public Member, is a lawyer with over thirty years’ experience helping both commercial and non-profit organization clients resolve disputes, primarily in the financial services and pharmaceutical industries. She regularly leads teams in determining strategy for complex nationwide litigations. In addition to commercial litigation, Sharon’s diverse practice also includes regulatory and compliance counseling, and litigation risk and avoidance counseling. In 2020, she was honored with a “California Lawyer of the Year” award by the Daily Journal, for her successful representation of Planned Parenthood in a six-week federal jury trial against extremists who infiltrated their conferences and surreptitiously recorded conversations with healthcare providers. Sharon’s interest in and commitment to improving education is reflected, in part, in her pro bono representation of an educational non-profit, her service as an advisory board member for the Berger Institute for Individual and Social Development at Claremont McKenna College for nearly 15 years, and an advisory board member for publisher LexisNexis (Matthew Bender). Sharon holds a BA in history and political science from Claremont McKenna College, and a JD from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.
