The WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) has received formal notification from the U.S. Department of Education confirming a five-year federal recognition as an accrediting agency, spanning 2023 through May 2028.

All federally recognized accreditors are required to undergo periodic review to maintain their status. Federal recognition is based on a comprehensive, multi-year review in which the Department examines an accreditor’s standards, policies, and practices against established federal criteria. WSCUC’s renewed recognition affirms the agency’s continued alignment with federal requirements and its commitment to quality, accountability, and student success.
